Parents from some schools in Kenya (and probably some other parts in East Africa)seem ignorant of the potential of ICT in driving the economy. I bet we have alot to do if ICT integration is to make headway for the whole of East Africa. What's your take on this?
Francis this is shocking! Until now I have never conceptualized my reaction in meeting a community resistant to change, and worse; ignorant of potentials in ICT! Indeed as East African educators, we have an up-hill task before tangible results can be seen. I think what is paramount is the demonstration of ICT integration in learning as opposed to ICT training to our learners before we can counter the ethics dimensions in ICT as a challenge. Killing the tick-infested cow will not control the ticks. We need the milk from the cow, and the ticks may be 'innocent'!
