Architecture and design at work! The petrol station provides gas to motorists using this road or living here. The elegant building at the background depicts that a high class/ affluent community lives around here. The green trees show that the area receives adequate rains, or the residents probably irrigate them. The environment is kept neat and makes the surrounding of this building to appear quite beautiful. The local people who build such units have not been formally trained but have acquired the skill through working with specialist expartiates who come from other parts of the world. Eventually the local people gain experince, and make money from the paid employment which improves the way they live.
Business is the main economic activity in this photograph. The cyclist at the foreground could have dropped a customer to buy some vegetables or clothes in this open air market. The wooden foot bypasses from the road to the market provide a link to the stalls and shops at the background, though safety seems to be compromised since people crossing from either side can fall into the open drainage! Seemingly space is precious and every inch seems to count!! Eventually the residential areas get squeezed and overcrowded, having a negative impact on the way they live.

This photograph shows a small scale farmer using a hoe to till his crop.A customer seemingly approaches to purchase some for a days meal. What I probably cannot tell is how long it will take him to clear the farm with this traditional method of farming. The size of the farm too seems small to produce an adequate quantity of foodstuff.  A person's financial ability will affect how and where they live: here the poor farmer can only afford to use the tarditional hoe to weed his crop.
